SUMMER STUDY SERIES: BEING CHRISTIAN | Tues mornings in July | 10:00AM | Nailer Room

Join Rev. Don and others for a four week study series! We will meet for an engaging discussion of Archbishop Rowan Williams’ book Being Christian. Released two years ago, Being Christian is an accessible and engaging book on the essentials of the Christian life: Baptism, Bible, Eucharist and Prayer. With thought-provoking questions, Williams challenges to consider the very fundamentals of our faith life. Being Christian is a brief book and is available on-line or at your local bookstore.

STRONGER TOGETHER 2017 | Tues, August 14 – Thurs, August 18 | Six Nations Polytechnic

Stronger Together 2017 is a [partnership between Six Nations Polytechnic and the Haldimand Tract Ecumenical Partnership. There are two Open Conference format streams: an overnight residency August 14 – 18 for youth aged 18-30, and three day-long programs on Tuesday August 15, Wednesday August 16 and Thursday August 17, which are open to all. The cost is $500 for the youth program and $100 per day for the day programs (includes lunch). All programs will be offered from Six Nations Polytechnic in Ohsweken, ON. Please see the poster on the bulletin board in the Great Hall for details. Two youth attendees from the Diocese of Toronto, one Indigenous and one non-Indigenous, are eligible for funding through the Diocesan Social Justice and Advocacy team. Contact Elin Goulden at egoulden@toronto.anglican.ca.


FAMILY BBQ & MOVIE NIGHT | Wed, July 26 at 6:00PM | Great Hall

Why cook when you can join us for a delicious BBQ and fun movie night? Your contribution is a salad, side dish or dessert. The movie will be “A Dog’s Purpose” starring Josh Gad and Dennis Quaid. BAS DONATIONS | Summer 2017

We are looking to replace the soft covered Book of Alternative Services due to their state of disrepair.  If you wish to make a donation to replace one or more books, please mark a pew envelope with “BAS Donation”. Each book is approximately $20. If you wish a memorial plaque in the book(s), please contact Jennifer in the office. Tax receipts will be issued for your donation.


You can do your part to support the Deacon Al Fund by dropping your spare change into a jar marked “Loonies with Love” over the summer. For more information contact Shirley Rehill or Anne Simons.

About The Deacon Al Fund: Deacon Al Gearing worked and learned with us at Christ Church before he was ordained. Al was an older gentleman in his second career and he requested his monetary parting gift would best honour him by becoming a fund that would help those in need. This has evolved into our priest’s discretionary fund, The Deacon Al Fund, which can be of immediate assistance to members of our congregation and community.


VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY | Church School and Youth Group | September 2017 – June 2018

We are always in need of new church school teachers and youth leaders. Teaching schedule will vary depending on number of volunteers and your availability. The curriculum is planned in advance and Sunday activities are prepared for you. Contact Jane Smith at janesmith@stouffvilleanglican.ca if you would like to help us in this valuable ministry.
