We co-ordinate and organise monthly mid-week Communion Services for seniors in our parish and from retirement and nursing homes within the Stouffville area. We provide a communion service once a month and a time to relax and meet with friends, old and new. We give residents of nursing and retirement homes a chance to worship in Church, sing familiar songs and hymns and renew their faith. The smiles on their faces show how much this means to them. We also plan special luncheons, such as:
- Christmas turkey lunch in December
- Valentine’s Tea in February
- Spring lunch in May
As with other ministries, we rely on and thank the volunteers and helpers who work hard to prepare the teas and luncheons, set up the hall, drive the seniors and serve or deliver meals to the home-bound who can’t attend. If you know a Senior who is interested in or would like to attend our services, please contact Lilian Callaghan.
