The Reverend Jason Prisley
The Reverend Jason Prisley was born and raised in the Beaches area of Toronto and has a religious background in the Baptist Church tradition, attending Fallingbrook Heights Baptist Church as a young adult.
Jason attended the University of Toronto and his studies include an Honours B.A. degree with a major in British History and a minor in both Religion and Medieval Studies. During his undergraduate studies, Jason was able to study abroad at the University of Lancaster in England. Jason attended Wycliffe College in Toronto for his seminary studies, obtaining a Master of Divinity degree in May 2005.
It was also in May 2005 that Jason was ordained as a Deacon at St. James’ Cathedral in Toronto and began his ministry at Christ Church Deer Park in downtown Toronto as the Assistant Curate. One of the many things that drew Jason from the Baptist tradition to the Anglican Church was the rich history and tradition and Jason enjoys studying the Medieval Church and the history of Anglicanism during that period.
Jason is also a self-confessed sports nut, and especially enjoys watching English football (soccer) and hockey. He also enjoys reading, exercising, travelling and spending time with family and friends. Jason began his ministry at Christ Church Stouffville in May 2007 as the Associate Priest, was named Priest-in-Charge in January 2010 and Incumbent in June 2011.
Jason lives in Stouffville with his wife, Melissa, and their two cats: Trixie & Pixie.
